Work Experience at 2020

Our company has given support and guidance to local young people with an interest in sport especially cricket related. In appreciation of the fact that there are limited opportunities locally to secure meaningful work based experiences in this field 2020 Community Sport C.I.C. has already provided 7 student placements for individuals since its inception in September 2014.

These work experience placements through schools and other educational establishments are intended to be an introduction to the world of work in general students and are also an important element of their social development.

Positive feedback received states......."the students were very grateful for the interest that you took in them and the support they received. Your participation in the programme is much valued and without it students would not be as well prepared for a rapidly approaching entry into adult life"

Following the success of a recent placement with student Harry Warwick 2020 Community Sport received the following feedback from Nottingham Trent University Employability Advisor:

"Thank you very much for supporting the above student during their placement at your organisation and for the hard work that you put into making the placement such a great success. Please pass on our thanks to all staff that were involved. The 30 day placement in the second year is an important part of the programme and gives students the opportunity to put theory into practice and gain valuable work experience as well as giving them background to complete their assignments. Thank you for giving the student the opportunity to gain this experience from your organisation"

The team wish Harry all the best in his future studies and thank him for the effort he gave during his time with us.

The team were joined by Emilia Dutton over the summer who had this to say about her experience:

"My work experience during the summer of 2017 with 2020 Community Sport has undeniably been a most memorable and enjoyable experience for me. It is the first time I have been able to fully immerse myself with my own knowledge of sport whilst helping a range of participants who have a various range of diverse and challenging needs. By spending my time volunteering, I not only learnt so many valuable insights on how important helping other people are, I also found a part of myself which I never knew existed. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and have great appreciation for 2020 Community Sport in allowing me to take part in such a scheme. Spending my time there, also helped contribute to my Silver D of E award, in which I finally achieved late last year."

We thoroughly enjoyed the time Emilia spent with us and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
