On Saturday 07.10.17 we attended the official opening of the new facilities at Baysgarth School a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Barton Upon Humber. These facilities were funded by the Government initiative of Building Schools For The Future and included a totally refurbished Sports Hall. New cricket net bays have also been put in provided by a successful joint funding initiative between the school and the local cricket club, Barton Town Cricket Club (BTCC). We ran a series of informal net sessions to raise awareness of these new facilities and saw about 50 individuals (vast majority of whom were of school age) come and have a go, many of whom also came back for extra goes. We signposted as many as we could to the Friday night indoor sessions that BTCC will be running soon there. Of particular pleasing interest was the appearance of 3 girls who could remember Neil going into their school for previous Chance To Shine sessions and who after having a short one to one session in the new nets expressed an interest in going along to the BTCC sessions so we signposted them accordingly.
