Softball Disability Cricket Tournament
On Tuesday an excited group of cricketers met at Cleethorpes cricket ground for a much awaited game as we held the first ever competitive disability softball cricket tournament between a team from East Riding and another from North East Lincolnshire.
The teams were the Millers (Millers Day Centre) from Beverley and Foresight from Grimsby. The competition ran on a pairs basis and there were great performances from players on both sides. Foresight won 53 to 26 with the Millers playing valiantly despite being hampered by being short a couple of their talented players.
This was a great celebration of disability sport and the Chance2Shine programme provided by both Lincs Cricket Board and Yorkshire Cricket Board.
It was a brilliant day and we are already looking at the possibility of a return fixture at Beverley.
